In 2025, our High School Mission Trip, WoodsWork, will be headed to Nelsonville, Ohio, to build homes, relationships, and community. The trip will be from June 19–27, and all high schoolers—9th-12th grade—are invited, so mark your calendars and don't wait! Registration is open now!
Youth Group at Woods
Our Youth Group meets every Tuesday in Fellowship Hall, 6–7:30PM, for fun, fellowship, and community. We strive to make Youth Group a safe and welcoming space for all Youth. Newcomers are welcome!
Sunday School
Our Youth Sunday School class meets every Sunday, 9:30–10:30AM. This class, for 6th-12th graders, explores life-giving topics such as "Do Not Fear," "Care for Creation," and "Do Justice." We strive to expand our biblical literacy, wrestle with big questions in a safe and open minded space, and explore ways to apply what we learn to our lives in practical ways.
Mission Projects and Partnerships
The primary mission activity for Woods youth is our summer WoodsWork project. This is a mission trip for youth and adult volunteers to build houses for those in need. Woods Church has been partnered with Habitat for Humanity for over 37 years to provide this opportunity to our youth. To gear up for WoodsWork, we host an annual picnic table build, where the picnic tables are donated to Habitat for Humanity.
Woods Church also works with various advocacy organizations, such as Winter Relief, in an effort to create a better environment for people in our surrounding communities. We also have multiple fundraisers throughout the year that support the important work of various nonprofits that address income inequalities, mental health, homelessness, and others in need. Woods partners with Winter Relief for a select number of weeks throughout the season of winter to provide shelter, warm meals, and hygeine maintenance opportunities for anyone seeking emergency shelter during that time.
Family Involvement
The Youth Ministry aims to make progressive, fun, and valuable decisions for youth at Woods – it's also a great way for families to get involved with our church. Those who are members of the Youth Ministry have the opportunity to make decisions surrounding the organization of mission trips, Sunday School, Confirmation classes, and the Youth Group—all of which positively impact the youth at Woods.
Over the years, Woods has remained active in the community here and abroad, challenging our young people to make a positive difference in Christ's name wherever they go.
